Men An Tol holed stonesFew people will miss the powerful symbolism of this famous holed stone - the ring is large enough for people to go through and legend had it that childless women had only to pass through the stone to be able to conceive again...

This area, West Penwith is rich in megalithic sites such as the Boscawen-un and Merry Maidens stone circles.

9705215.jpg (12392 bytes)Men an Tol has three stones forming an alignment with the holed stone in the centre - Cheryl Straffon reports (24) that there is some specualtion that this once was a stone circle, though it is not clear how the unique holed stone would fit into the circle.
